From Off To On Oct 18

Here’s a close up detail of a painting I recently finished entitled “By Looking In.”

I’m currently using a lot of found wood from my job to paint on/incorporate in sculptures, and this piece is a perfect example. For the full image, click here.

I prefer working with found wood because of the depth of history and character it has already acquired before I transform it into a work of art. At least that’s what I am shooting for…

Also, working with found objects is more challenging to me personally. Working around and using certain aspects of the found object to my advantage in the design process is definitely more satisfying when it all comes together in the end.

I am also in the works on starting collaborations with fellow artist James Quebbeman on multiple wood panels. Stay tuned for more information later.

Lions, Tigers, and Bears, Oh My! Oct 6

Josh Keyes has work on display at the Hang Art in San Fransisco. Here are some photos from the opening.

Also, Michael Sieben not only has an article in the current (Octocer) issue of Juxtapoz, but he also has the cover. Congrats Mr. Sieben. Pick it up.

Marigold & Patchwork Oct 2

Jim Houser has an interview on FecalFace right now. His work is also being displayed at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery along with Jeff Soto’s work. If you are in the New York area, don’t miss this chance to see work from two amazing artists.
